Massimiliano was born and raised in Catania, Sicily. He started to take photos at twenty, motived by a strong passion for portraying situations and people related to his life. His journey to a deeper visual knowledge brought him to Rome, to attend at the IED where he studied photography in 2000. After his graduation he has never stopped figuring his imagination through the camera. His personal research draws the different stages of the existence, describing an imaginary reality through memories and through the unconscious. Massimiliano is a photographer who works across a variety of photographic genres, including documentary, portraiture and street photography to explore broad themes and social issues. Massimiliano lives and works in Sacramento, California.
